Phnom Penh.....21 June-23 June 2013

  • I went to Phnom Penh recently to attend a program organised by the MyAlumni Consortium Global Reach. Ministry of Education.
  • An invitation was sent to me and managed to get approval from UUM's top management.
  • I booked a hotel as suggested by the organising committee.
  • There were representatives from all public and private higher education institutions (HEI)
  • The program enabled to gather some alumni from these HEI.
  • The coffee table book also launched that night too. And, a wonderful dinner also organised.
  • I felt so lucky as I managed to meet UUM alumni during the event.
  • I also able to get to know more closely the officers and directors of alumni in HEI.
  • They seemed to be very friendly too.
  • I also went for shopping at a very well-known shopping spot, the Central Market.
  • So many interesting goods sold there.
  • The pictures below were taken during my visit there.

This is dato Laily, UKM's Alumni Centre Director, a very friendly and humble person.

    UUM alumni.....

This is Nordin, A malay cham young guy. He graduated in 2011 and his sister, graduated in 2007.

Me and Dr. Chea Peau (graduated in 2009)

An Assistant Manager who has taken MBA and graduated in 2001.

Internet card, I bought for USD5.00 (24-hour usage).

A security guard, carrying an AK-47 rifle. Even, to make more interesting, I found that a pharmacy also hire a security guard to look after the premise, also using AK-47 rifle.

Central Market....so many cheap products....but the quality not bad too.

    Exotic foods......cockroaches, spiders, worms? etc.

A park in the middle of the road very common in Phnom Penh.

The venue for the dinner, Sunway Hotel.

I have my lunch at this restaurant. The owner is a female from Shah Alam, she married a Cambodian.
