31/7/2010: Gotong Royong@Alyssa

Badan Amal & Kebajikan Alyssa managed to organise a gotong-royong on 31/7/2010. Many residents participated. MDKP also supported well but could be improved in future. Overall, I am satisfied!

Study hard, please!

Some students still think study in university is same like study in secondary school. It's totally different and some who are unable to realize this certainly become a potential candidate for failure.....

They must change their attitude....and work harder.....

Alhadulillah....the convocation date is confirmed. I'll be in the 1st session on 4/8/2010. Going through Ph.D journey was really painstaking. A lot of sacrifices......of course...I owe so much to my beloved wife and children. The continuous supports and prayers from them make me strong. More importantly, the prayers from my beloved mother, Hajjah Chek binti Saleh....and my in-laws as well.....Haji Ahmad and Hajjah Som.....

Ph.D makes me feels more responsible to my nation.....the government who sponsored my study. I'm willing to help my students, to motivate them to work harder, show their perseverance, and continuously improve themselves. My supervisor, Associate Professor T. Ramayah has shown me that hardworking and diligent play vital roles in this lonely journey.

I certainly will help my wife to accomplish her Ph.D.........

Threats.....

Tan Sri Dato' Seri Harussani, the Perak state Mufti, is one of the senior Muftis in Malaysia. He visited UUM on Thursday and became one of the panelists to discuss issues related to Islam in Malaysia.There were some people disagreed with his idea of good cooperation between two Malay political parties. He shared his experiences about Islam in Indonesia, issues of liberalism, pluralism and apostasy. I was unlucky because not able to follow his talk until the end as I needed to attend a class. But, what really surprised me was the issues of liberalism and pluralism in Malaysia were getting worsen. Many professionals such as lawyers and academicians were involved.

I really hope, they realize their mistakes and repent as soon as possible.....

Newly born, Farra Lea.....(I'm not sure whether her name is correct). Feel so great to see her in KMC yesterday. Hope Boi & Cik Dah will always be given blessings by Allah SWT....

Congrats dear!

My wife and I met with her second supervisor (my supervisor as well) last Friday. A very pleasant meeting to discuss her Ph.D proposal. Basically, she's done well as many issues already highlighted. Just wait for her main supervisor to approve before proceed for proposal defense. Hopefully, her supervisor will agree.......

But, the best news, of course, when her first article published in Business Strategy Series (an Emerald listed Journal). Congrats, and really proud of you.

Self-Discipline is the key!

Yesterday was my 1st class for this semester. 120++ students take Inventory Management subject. Many were failed in the previous semester. As usual, I always highlight the basic thing in life....work hard.....be self-disciplined. I'm not sure how many will be frustrating in the last day of my class......

ICTOM Langkawi

COB UUM organised an International Conference on Technology and Operations Management in Langkawi last week, 5-7 July. I was one of the organising committee members,as the secretariat. I presented a paper as well and won one of the best paper award. This was my first paper won such award in any conferences that I've attended.

My supervisor really happy as I informed him.

It's getting better and better....

Comprehensive win!! Bravo to Germany. Superb tactical approach to marginalise Argentina. The youth program 10 years ago finally showed the result. They controlled the game.....and I look forward for Paraguay vs. Spain match.
