When it comes to 40......

I played a futsal match on Saturday organised by Alumni Centre. This was the second year for the futsal tournament. But this year was more exciting as 20 teams were participated. The 1st prize was also quite lucrative, RM1000.

I learnt something very valuable lessons though.....my stamina and fitness were not at the top levels anymore. I needed two days to gain my energy back...of with some bruises here and there as well. But, I really enjoyed the match very much....and I knew something....when it comes to 40...........I'm not as fit as 20 years back.....

Kuantan......

I stayed at The Zenith Hotel Kuantan for another night. Today was a busy schedule. I discussed with my PhD. student about 3 hours and met my friends later in the afternoon. I really hope that our discussion will benefit her most to prepare herself for the proposal defend soon.
I met my friends, a General Manager at a private hospital in Kuantan and a Senior Human Resource Manager,at another private hospital in Kuantan.

I have a great dinner later in the evening with an officer of local authority, MPK. Thank you very!!

What a thriller!!

1. My flight from KLIA to Kuantan was changed as some technical problems encountered just before took off on 26/12/2012 evening. But, amazingly, I just waited for 2 hours for a new plane......
2. Manchester United defeated New Castle United after 3 times down.
3. Sunderland defeated Manchester City 1-0
4. etc

11th Anniversary ......

I was so delighted to celebrate my 11th wedding anniversary together with my wife and sons at our home on 25th December. It was so special day for me as my wife gave me a watch and I bought her 2 pairs of clothes. She has been so lovely and taking care of me and our sons. Tonnes of loves and thoughts. I always believe that, Allah The Almighty has given me a special wife to look after my family. I pray to Allah The Almighty she will always get the blessings from Allah SWT. Love you so much....

Vios.....

I heard that Toyota will introduce new model somewhere next year. My wife looks forward to get a new car.....as she has been driving her Kelisa for nearly 8 years without much hectic. It is always her choice....to decide.....

It will be her self reward for her Ph.D completion, in 2013 insya Allah...

GUR 2012 FINALE

I attended GUR 2012 finale organised by UUM alumni central chapter last Sunday. It was very nice environment as so many alumni participated in the tournament. This was my second appearances in gUR finale. I managed to strengthened the relationship with this group. In fact, they were really supportive and most of them were from my batch (1997). I invited an emcee, Hazlin Hussain to handle the function....and all the alumni....were happy....

A frustrating.....performance

I am not an excellent sport commentator but when I watched the match between Thailand and Malaysia last night, I commented promptly to my wife. My observation,  the manager and coaching staff should be responsible. Too many basic skills mistakes done.
I hope FAM will take fast action for remedy.

A hectic week

I was so amazed when I found that someone's trying to tarnish my reputation recently and it's still going I guess. As far as I'm concerned, I always strictly follow whatever instructions given the top management. Although the Royal Alumni Banquet organised on 10/11/2012 went smoothly without major problems, yet some people are trying to take part to ensure my team and I performance is questionable. So many things suddenly raised up. Actually I don't bother much what my be happened. I always believe that if I do something faithfully therefore other people will aware. Show-off is not my style though. I just wait for what will be his next movement. I have mentally and physically ready for any circumstances. 

Black Magic??

When I read today's newspaper, I was really surprised to see that an experienced caterer have encountered a huge humiliation as their foods were rotten on a wedding ceremony. They have involved in the business for more than 20 years and this was the first time they have such incident. Perhaps....someone didn't happy with their business I guess......

AFF Cup 2012

It was a frustrating night for most Malaysian as Harimau Malaya effectively marginalised by Singapore last night. What went wrong? I'm not an tactical expert in football but my observation has shown me something that needed to be rectified promptly. When playing a team such as Singapore, the manager should know best....what tactical approach and team selection decisions. Playing a long ball certainly looked very amateur compare to a team comprised of an average 1.80m heights .......

But, I always believe that something can be done.....as we still have other games to play. All players must give 110% commitment.

When a Glass Hob flops...

We've bought our glass hop about 10 months ago. However.....it broke down recently and my wife found some difficulties to prepare meals for our family. Of course in order to claim the warranty surely will take some time. The solution...is simple buy a new one......

Harimau Malaya......

I watched a football friendly match between Malaysia and Bangladesh last night. It was a very frustrating match though as we were unable to beat the opposition team and played very poorly. I am not sure whether our national team able to defend the AFF Cup or not. My observation, datuk Rajagopal needs to work hard to retain the trophy.

I watched a TV9 program yesterday, specifically "Tanyalah Ustaz". The topic was simple yet has a very deep impact.

Whether....is it Husnul Khotimah.....or Suul Khotimah for my ending? I just pray every day....may Allah rewards my family and I a blessing ending......Husnul Khotimah...insya Allah...

The weekly review.....

Few important events were successfully completed last week:
1. Royal Alumni Banquet 2012 at Le Marquee, The Palace of The Golden Horses Hotel**
2. Knowledge Transfer Program Research Grant Meeting at The Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands
3. MBA class on 17&18 November 2012

** I felt so relief as the event went as planned although it was raining quite heavily late in the afternoon about 2 hours before the event started. No remarks were given from the Protocol Unit of The Istana Negara.

The D-Day

It just around the corner for a very big event organised by Alumni Center this year. The Alumni Royal Banquet on 10 November 2012 will be a massive task for me to materialize it accordingly. The SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong and  SPB Raja Permaisuri will attend this function together with some royals from Kedah as well. When it comes to protocol issues....so many things needed to be taken care. I pray to Allah SWT all the plannings will work well during the event, insyaAllah.

Hari Raya Aidiladha

Last year my family went to celebrate our Hari Raya Aidiladha in KL. But, this year....we will go back to Penang to celebrate with my mother. In fact this year, I haven't felt the spirit of Hari Raya.....I it's due to my busy schedule to materialise a big event next month, The Alumni Royal Banquet on 10 November. It's really demanding task....
I didn't enjoy my sleep for the past few weeks though.........

Arghhhh!!!!

I have come back from KL on Sunday evening. It was a week long outstation as I went to Kuantan, KL and Melaka to visit few alumni. More importantly to get their support (financially) and commitment to attend the 4th Alumni Royal Banquet. I went to meet with Istana Negara protocol officer as well. There were so many burdens my team and I need to focus though. I just pray to Allah that we could organise the program as planned, InsyaAllah....

It's just so great...if your efforts are appreciated....

I have noticed something when my term as the Director of Alumni UUM extended for another one year last July. I thought the top management wanted to find a new candidate to replace me....

What I heard there were few individuals interested to try their lucks.....to replace me though.....
It didn't me much anyway.....
Next month will be a very challenging and big task for me to materialise the main 2012 event, The Alumni Royal Banquet which the SPB YDA will attend. So many things need to be settled. I just really dependent on my staff to assist me.
My observation....some of the students affairs department staff who should help me do not actively give their hands.....

Circumcision....

I registered my sons for circumcision yesterday. It costed me RM800.00 per person. I booked the date already......22 November 2012 will be their special day I guess and my sons prefer full anesthetic........

25th Convocation....

I feel so great to see a very proud parents......in the convocation hall. It is always a special moment for them to witness their children wonderful moment.

I would like to congratulate them...on their children achievement and pray all the best in their future.

Last night I joint a friendly football match specifically planned for this convocation. There were various batches of alumni came and played the football match.
I was so happy as few alumni from 1st batch also came all the way from Johor Baharru and Ipoh to participate as well.

Today, few of my students also came and visited me.....what a great moment for me....to have a chat with them......
My MBA students also sent their sms.....to share their wonderful moments with me.....
CONGRATULATIONS!!

25th Convocation...Congratulations!

The 25th convocation exposition officiated on Wednesday evening at Sports Complex UUM. It was a sensational event though. On Saturday, there will be second session for graduates to receive their scrolls. Congratulations and Happy Convocation!

Poultry....the broiler industry in Malaysia

My research team was awarded a research grant under MOHE, Knowledge-Transfer-Program. Our focus area was the poultry industry in Malaysia, specifically the broiler industry. On Sunday, 29/9/2012 my team had a meeting with a managing director of a company involved in the broiler industry. I learnt a lot about the volatility of this industry. There are so much being given to the integrator and there are few number of companies only actively involved in this industry. There were some new terms I learnt from him as well such...pure line, great great grand parent (GGP), grand parent (GP), etc..
There are few players in broiler industry in Malaysia such as CAB, KFC, Sin Mah etc.
What I really surprised was the attitude of the managing director. He complaint a lot about some of the government agencies that he's dealing with. He also complaint about the limited efforts done by our government to support him.
I just listened to him.....and keep on thinking.....
I just couldn't imagine how much the tax exemptions given to him. The tax incentives given under the Ministry of Agriculture also substantial though...
What he really wants anyway?

**I just found out that...he is a strong supporter of LGE.......

Banana......

I love eating banana very much. I grow few banana trees beside my house. I like most is pisang emas for cokodok. I also love to eat pisang raja. When I went to Penang this afternoon, I found out that 1kg of pisang raja costs RM6.00!!

Campus Elections

Some students, in particular, Malay students worked very hard in the recent campus election. They said it was the best platform for them to express their skills in various areas, i.e. leadership, originality, wisdom, hard work,  interpersonal skills improvement....etc.
My opinion is simple....if becoming a candidate in the campus election can help them to prepare themselves for their career and employment, then, go ahead. But, if doesn't help them much, please concentrate on their study, work hard to explore more knowledge and skill in other areas, be observant of what are happening in the global businesses, financial institutions, socials, politics....try to synthesis all the events and their impacts to our country will be perhaps more beneficial.....

But...since this is a democratic country....the choice is in their hands......even....Wayne Rooney injured himself in order to help his team won a football match though....

Post Match Comments.....

I've read so many news and found that there are Liverpool supporters expressed the defeat to Manchester United due to poor refereeing decisions. I'm not sure...if Manchester United loss whether the same thing will be happened.

Actually, I rushed back from KL and took Firefly flight in order to arrive on time in Alor Setar.
It doesn't matter for me....whether there are poor refereeing decisions or not. As long as...the team score accordingly, full stop!

Glory...Glory....Glory....

in KL again....

I visited KL again this week. It was a scheduled visit to track back UUM aumni.....
I also went to Kuantan on Wednesday morning from KLIA and returned back to KL late in the evening.....of course it's very tiring though. Thursday and Friday also fulled with activities. Promotions for Royal Alumni Banquet were done concurrently. We managed to get few positive responses......
I pray the big event will be very successful, insyaAllah....

A weekly review.....

A few events happened in UUM for the last week:
1. New student's orientation week
2. Three academic blocks were officiated by MOHE Minister
3. Royal Concert specially organised for SPD Agong
4. Gangnam video uploaded by Chinese students (new students)**
5. etc

** the video was uploaded last week and I managed to watch it in You Tube. Very irresponsible, in my opinion as the video certainly has bad message to be exposed. If I were the top management, surely I'll look forward to call all the students involved to get details information. They were using Super Monkey/Jungle Gangnam...style.....
Are they referring the monkey to their parents? themselves? UUM academic staff?UUM administration staff? other students? politicians? etc?

Job Vacancy

I went to UUM's Vice Chancellor Hari Raya open house at his official residence in UUM today. There were many guests invited and joined the Yassin recital and tahlil prayers. So many foods served but my favorite of course grilled lamb. I also went  to a wedding in Alor Setar. The groom's my neighbor. But.....it's raining heavily.......and adik Ammar added another adventurous action.........he vomited in the car....
