It's happened again...and again.....every year...

When it comes to Chinese New Year, guess who will be the first victim of firecrackers? Or....when it comes to Deepavalli, who will be the first victim? And, in Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Aidiladha?
I just cannot understand why people are losing their rational lately? People who bought the firecrackers? People who allow their children to watch open burning firecrackers?
Who should be blamed?
The basic thing here is very simple....just avoid any possibilities of getting you and your family members from danger!

Mom....I love you!

29 July...is always a special day for me. My mom celebrated her 82nd  birthday today. But, compare to last year.....this year she celebrated her birthday at my brother's house. She stayed with me for nearly two years. As my maid will be going back to Indonesia this weekend, I have to take my mom to my brother's house.
I wish my maid will be allowed to come back to work at my house again  by her husband. What if she couldn't make it? Certainly, I'll look for  a replacement....and my mother will stay with me again.

Tactical Catastrophic?

Last night Arsenal F.C fought back from a goal down to beat Malaysia Team 2-1. My personal observation is the manager failed to master the tactical superiority. He made few changes that affected the whole game in the last 20 minutes.
All players were absolutely played a very matured game and some of them really maintained a good composure.
The next match they will face Manchester City and hope they can do much better.

Ramadhan 1433H

This year I think for the 1st 4 days fasting....I have been able to control myself of doing any activities to recede my fasting rewards. But I think....I can feel there will be more challenges ahead as I'll be outstation again this week.

It is always a great pleasure if I could gauge my fasting rewards when  I start to break my fast in the evening......

Big events.....

There were two big events in UUM recently. 1st, is the annual inter-varsity staff sport carnival and the commencement of young officers for the Reserved Officers Training  Unit (ROTU)...but I'm not sure about the term anyway....
Congrats to all the winners and the to young officers.
For me, the ROTU commencement was really interesting as this was my first time attending such event.
The biggest event...of course is the Ramadhan 1433H......
I pray to Allah I able to finish the fasting with full rewards from Him....insyaAllah...

A special day for her...

My wife celebrated her 37th birthday yesterday. I have nothing to say......
She has sacrificed a lot when I was pursuing my Ph.D from 2005-2010. Even....the most wonderful thing she's done of course  not only to love our children and I....more importantly she can look after my mother as well......
What a wonderful gift Allah Almighty has given to me.....
To Norzieiriani Ahmad....I just want express my deepest gratitude.......and thank you so much for the lovely  and wonderful years with you.......

Bandung....ICTOM 2012

My wife and I went to Bandung, Indonesia to present a paper in ICTOM2012. This was our first visit to Indonesia. Overall, the weather in Bandung was very pleasant. However, the traffic jam or "machet" was really terrible. So many places to visit with some limitation of budget.......

How do you feel?

I was re-appointed for another 1 year as the Director of Alumni Universiti Utara Malaysia. Actually, I'm not sure how do I feel when the news was delivered to me last week via email. Sometimes it is very hard to be in  this post. Luckily, I managed to fulfill few key performance indicators set by the top management. The Vice Chancellor is looking forward for more from the Director of Alumni for sure.....
I find some difficulties to materialize the targets set by the management. The main culprit to hinder the efforts is certainly related to the financial aspect. I have not given the freedom to manage my department......this is very big issue though.....as so called department head is looking forward to manipulate any opportunities for his benefits.....
I will survive...insyaAllah.....

A visit to KL: TV3

Alhamdulillah.....I managed to materialise the plan to visit TV3 in Bandar Utama on 27/6/2012. There are few UUM alumni in various department. In fact, they are very young indeed. I can observe the potential of their career development in TV3. I really hope they will able to contribute back to  UUM and nation. I strongly believe....they will improve themselves successfully in future.
