An email from Portugal

I received an email yesterday. A masters student interested to get my article about TPM that been published in Malaysia Labour Review in 2009.
I hope....the article can help him in order to accomplish his project.

The 206th Police Day Celebration

It was a big event at PULAPOL KL with thousand of spectators watched the parade of police forces. It was also a sad atmosphere as the video of Sulu terrorist invasions in Lahad Datu shown to audiences. My late brother was a corporal in RPM before he passed away back in 2006. It was a sad moment for my family.......

Something fishy is going on.......

My term as The Director of UUM Alumni will be ended on 30th June 2013. I look forward to wait for the moment as so many challenges are coming through. I am very happy to close the gap between alumni and UUM. Although some alumni still don't get clearer picture about what is alumni anyway. I heard there are few candidates interested this post. I would like to wish them all the best and hope they can contribute something to alumni and UUM.

Congratulations!!!

The UUM VC, Professor Dato' Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak has been awarded a 2-year contract extension of UUM VC until March 2015. So many departments took the opportunity to congratulate him for the re-appointment of UUM's VC. Certainly he needs strong supports from all staff and students to achieve UUM vision and mission.....

An Article....for publication

I feel so stressful to complete an article for chapter in a book published by UPM. In fact, my friend is the co-editor for the journal. I hope I can complete the article therefore I can focus on other projects. I am planning to present a paper in a conference this June. Now, my strategy is...focus on international conference but organised in Malaysia. Moreover, the paper then will be upgraded for journal publication though...

GE13....

I try not to talk about politics. So many stories can be written about politics and politicians. Some politicians are very good orator and some not. Some politicians require more supports from grassroots and some not. Some require strong financial supports.......
I really hope.....no more new SD or controversial videos will be released soon......

A visit....to Ipoh

I've joined Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) visit to the late Allahyarham Inspector Zulkifli Mamat in Ipoh recently. His wife....is very strong emotionally and physically. Alumni Centre donated RM1000 to his wife as a token of appreciation for national warrior. In fact....his wife also an alumnus of UUM.....

A sad....sad day

An incident in Lahad Datu certainly become a very tragic for Malaysia as we lost our servicemen there. More importantly, Inspector Zulkifli Mamat was Alumni of UUM though....

UUM ONLINE – Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) melancarkan Tabung bagi membantu keluarga Allahyarham Inspektor Zulkifli Mamat yang terkorban dalam insiden pertempuran di Lahad Datu Sabah baru-baru ini.

Menteri Pengajian Tinggi, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin mendahului majlis kutipan itu diikuti dengan Naib Canselor UUM, Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.

Dr. Mohamed Mustafa yang ditemui berkata, pihak Pengurusan Tertinggi dan seluruh warga kerja serta mahasiswa universiti merakamkan ucapan takziah kepada keluarga Allahyarham Inspektor Zulkifli Mamat dan Koperal Sabarudin Daud yang terkorban dalam insiden pertempuran di Lahad Datu Sabah itu.

Katanya, Arwah Inspektor Zulkifli Mamat, 30 yang terkorban dalam tragedi serangan Berdarah oleh kumpulan penceroboh bersenjata di Lahad Datu Sabah itu merupakan pelajar Program Sarjana Muda Komunikasi dengan kepujian [B.Comm (Hons)] secara mode Pengajian Jarak Jauh (PJJ) di Pusat Pengajian PJJ UUM , Kota Bharu Kelantan.

Zulkifli Mamat yang bernombor matrik 63234 berasal dari Besut ,Terangganu memulakan pengajian di Universiti ini pada Semester Pertama Sesi 2004/2005 secara mode penuh masa tetapi menukar mod pengajian secara Jarak jauh pada Semester April Sesi 2010/2011 selepas mendapat tawaran berkhidmat sebagai Polis DiRaja Malaysia.

Sepanjang pengajian beliau, Allahyarham telah menunjukan pencapaian akademik yang amat baik dan dijangka menamatkan pengajian semester ini dan akan dianugerahkan Ijazah dalam Majlis Konvokesyen Oktober depan.

Semasa pengajian beliau di UUM , Allahyarham Zulkifli juga sangat aktif dalam kegiatan kokurikulum dan telah melibatkan diri dalam Kor Sukaralewan Polis Siswa/siswa (SUKSIS) di Universiti ini sejak tahun 2004 hingga 2006.

Allahyarham meninggalkan seorang balu iaitu Noraziah Nor dan dua cahayamata.

Seluruh warga UUM menyatakan perasaan yang amat sedih atas kematian dua anggota Komando VAT 69 ini dan mendoakan semoga roh Allahyarham berdua dicucuri rahmat dan dihimpunkan dalam golongan orang yang beramal soleh.

“Sebagai menyatakan simpati kami dan warga UUM kepada keluarga pelajar kami ini maka UUM melancarkan Tabung Allahyarham Zulkifli Mamat - Perwira Negara pada malam tadi, “ ujar beliau ketika ditemui di majlis pelancaran Perasmian SUKUUM, penyampaian Baucar Buku 1Malaysia dan IM4U Outreach Centre UUM.
