Career Week@ UUM
- I was really proud as one of the UUM alumni who is very successful businessman came back to UUM to officiate an official university's program.
- Dato' Md. Nizam bin Md. Sheriff, is a very low profile figure although his relationship with some Kedah Royal families is very strong.
- Even, he is also quite close with some public figures too.
- He officiated the Career Week and delivered a motivational talk to students too.
- I ushered him for two days during his visit.
- He also delivered a speech to final year students of Intaff Association.
- But....as expected, some students didn't bother much about his speech but rather concentrating on their smartphones.
- Perhaps, they have very urgent things to settle.....
Professor Ramayah
- Prof. Ramayah was invited specially to deliver a PLS class in UUM.
- I supposed to join the 3 days workshop but since I have a VIP to be ushered therefore I could not join the workshop.
- Prof. Ramayah, as usual shared all his experiences and materials during the workshop.
- Last Thursday, I was appointed to be a panel for an interview session
- The interview was specifically conducted in order to choose some candidates for an exemption of study fees.
- Many candidates turned up and all of them have fulfilled the minimum requirement to seat for the interview, i.e. CGPA more than 3.00
- I've asked them some questions to evaluate their general knowledge, communication skills, leadership skill, etc. using a format provided by the secretariat.
- I found that some of them were very well prepared and some were very frustrating.
- Some admired Bawani KS very much, some not.
- Some read newspaper, some proudly told me that they didn't read newspaper at all!
- Some concerned about the national security as so many crime cases were reported in Malaysia.
- Some expressed their frustration as they were unable to do their assignments due to poor wifi services.
- Some complaint about bus services, i.e. lack of buses, untimely bus schedules, etc.
- Some complaint about PTPTN was insufficient to support their expenses in UUM.
- Some complaint about lack of courteousness among Students Affairs Staff when dealing with students.
- etc.
- All the allegations and concerns they have raised I explained and answered accordingly.
- But of course, some of them were unhappy with my comments, answers and explanations.....
- My former student will graduate in UUM's 26th Convocation next month.
- I am very delighted as he dedicated his appreciation and gratitude to me on his FB wall.
- He took 2 papers with me and I can see his potential from the first day he joint my class.
- I think it's true that a good student has something different from ordinary students and can be observed during the first meeting.
- I wish him all the best in his future undertakings.
- Look forward to meet him during the convocation.
- My friend took his family to visit my house on Sunday.
- I was very delighted to meet his family.
- And more importantly, his daughter who suffers a leukemia (but I cannot remember the specific leukemia type)
- My friend posted something on his FB wall.
- As expected, so many comments were came in.
- It's true, everyone deserves to point out his/her opinions or views.
- But, when it comes to religious issue, especially as a Muslim, we need to look after the words coming out from our mouth.
- I think she has done unacceptable thing.
- A Muslim must always be extra careful if he/she wants to comment something.....because once he/she comments about the Islam faith......very dangerous consequences will be exposed.......
- etc
- I feel so great to get a message from my brother.
- My niece has done superbly in her UPSR with 5A.
- I am expecting her to enter a boarding school soon.
- She was won several awards last year and this year too.
- Today was the last class for the BJMP6023 Supply Chain Management
- Next month, the final examination will be on 8 December.
- I really hope they will strive harder to get better results.
- As I highlighted during the first meeting, each student has opportunity to get good results as long as he/she works hard.
- I also hope that they enjoyed my class and learnt something new.
- It was a family day program organised by the Student's Affairs
Department.
- I took my family to join the program too.
- We stayed at the Heritage Hotel Ipoh.
- I took the opportunity during the program to visit one of my friends in Ipoh.
- Some pictures taken.......
