Riots in Egypt....Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen And Jordan .

It was reported about the dire straits in few Arab countries such as Tunisia, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen , Jordan and Egypt. Whenever such riots happened....certainly many parties badly affected. Students, businesses, farmers, politicians etc. were in very disharmonious situation.

My baby sitter's daughter is studying in Cairo and unfortunately the communication channels were shutdown by the authorities. No news from her and I pray for her safety......

Gardening.....part II

When is the best time to prune your trees? I mistakenly pruned my mango trees few days ago. Actually, it will be a month before the mango trees start to promote flower buds. But, what to do? Damages already done....and just wait in case my mango trees can stimulate the flower buds soon.....

However, my banana trees are really good as 4 bunches are waiting for harvesting soon. Banana jack fruit (pisang nangka) and Musa belle (Pisang raja) are exceptionally delicious....and I really enjoy eating fried banana....and cucok kodok....

CNY 2011

It's a rabbit year for 2011. My colleagues, friends, students, teachers, and all will celebrate CNY in a week time. Hopefully, all of us will have a more prosperous years ahead. A former student, Yee, dropped by my office this morning.

He gave angpows to my children.....and a box of mandarin orange for me. Thanks a lot.

I've taught him 7 years ago......and since he's doing a printing business in UUM, therefore, I meet him quite frequently. From the 1st day he entered my class, I sensed his positive attitudes and strongly confident he can be a very successful person in future. Yes, it's true......now his business is in a good condition. He's married with a former UUM student as well........and have a son about 1 year ++...

I hope my students will always achieve what they are dreamed of.

Gardening........it's a good hobby

I like gardening a lot. It happened coincidentally I think......when my lecturer, an Englishman from Coventry, taught me a SCM module back in 2000 shared the same hobby though.....

But, in gardening......I prefer to plant banana and high endurance plants, i.e. Bougainvillea, mango, etc. These plants require less attention compare to some other plants.
Gardening can help you to reduce the work stress and make you more sensible to nature.......
So, if you have time.....just start to plant a tree.......

Cooking oil......

Suddenly.....cooking oil become a scarce resource in the biggest palm oil producer in the world. It's really amazing though. What happened anyway?? I feel the minister responsible for the consumer related issues is not competent enough. I'm not sure whether the related government agencies have sufficient data about the manufacturers, distributors, retailers, production capacity for all manufacturers, daily and monthly average consumptions etc.

To solve this problem is not so difficult, I think. It depends whether you want to solve it or not. The main point is you must know what is the main problem. Solve the problem and not the symptom!

Special Exam...for special students....

23/1/2011....6 of my Inventory Management students will seat for their special exam. Actually, these students are final year student. The management arranges this exam specifically to avoid some students to just come back to UUM to take the failed papers again.

But, I'm not sure whether they are mentally and physically ready for the exam or not. I hope they will work harder and put more efforts.....

Melaka.......where to stay??

I've been in Melaka for MBA class. The first class on 1/1/11, I've stayed at Mahkota Hotel.....a lousy hotel but quite expensive......I think this due to New Year holidays as so many Singaporeans were in Melaka....

I took a decision to book for a budget hotel for 15/1/11 class. It's a good hotel though.....and very clean as well. The room rate was affordable...only RM79.00. There are so many restaurants near the hotel. And, it also located just beside the major shopping malls, i.e. Mahkota Parade, Dataran Pahlawan Mall..etc.

If you wish to visit Melaka.....this hotel can be considered as a good place to stay.

Just try Trend Hotel........
