A Visit to Sabah & Sarawak

I went to Sabah on 13/6-17/6 for an official duty of Alumni Centre. Alumni Sabah was organised a special visit to meet the Speaker of the DUN Sabah. It was a great joy for me to share something about UUM achievements and progress to the Speaker. I took my staff together for this visit. Certainly, he's the ability to perform in his career in UUM.....

EURO 2012...

I watched two Euro 2012 matches last night. It's really entertaining as high pace games required so much energy and stamina. I compared our national team friendly matches against Philippine and Singapore recently. It was obvious....if we want to compete globally, we must improve:
1. Size of our players...the average heights probably....only 170cm....with small frame players...
2. We lacked of stamina, speed, energy, skills, etc.
3. The players lost their composure....
4. etc....

Is it normal?

My term the Director of UUM Alumni Center will be ended on 30 June 2012. Since the first day I've been attached to the Students Affairs Department I really not happy though. But, I have no choice as this was a responsibility given by the top management. In fact, I have asked for students residential hall principal post for two times and I rejected the offer. That's why when my name was suggested as the Director of Alumni Center.....I couldn't able to reject anymore. It could bring a bad reputation for my career in UUM if I all the time keep on avoiding any administration post offered.
I can be described as a good observer. I could sense something fishy is going on. My staff at the office has been relocated 4 times during this period, of with tonnes of reasons given by the department head. Interestingly, the staff are actually not performing in other department (what I've been informed by others...). But, this morning, I received another shocking news as my Assistant Registrar will be transferred to other department as well. He's very experienced and has very good networks with alumni. I would have quite a big problem to ensure his network can be extended to the replacement staff. I could sense that this transfer may be office politics related issue.........but.....I might be wrong......

They say.it's ok not to score....in the final examination...

Most of my students didn't get a very good carry mark fro their final examination. Most probably they will get just an average result. Unfortunately.....most of them are malay students.....
I keep on reminding them to focus on their study in order to get better results. I always belief that everyone has the ability to get a good result as long as he/she puts sufficient efforts to study hard. But some of them...of course didn't bother much about what the result will be.......
Some of them really work hard for a political party activities and missed few classes. Even, some of them always posting political related issued on their FB walls. For me, the choice is always in their hands. To get a good result or not to get a good result hence need to re-seat for the examination.
But....for me.....to highlight the importance of getting knowledge, attitude and skill require abundant efforts.....and I won't stop to advise them.....
But..it's up to them......
Good luck to you all!!
