- The holy month of Ramadhan was celebrated peacefully on 10 July 2013.
- However, on Tuesday, a day before the Ramadhan starts, an event to recognise the achievements of UUM staff was organised. My friend, Dr. Chandrakantan was promoted to Associate Professor (DS 54).
- My deputy director of alumni centre also received his award for excellence service.

- I took my family to the bazar Ramadhan at the state stadium in Alor Setar
- So many people rushed to buy foods and drinks for the breaking of fast.
- I really hope that the concerned department manages to look after the prices of foods and drinks sold there.
